The 9-man gang that disrupted the festive mood of the community shot sporadically into the air on Odo Ese street , where they halted commercial activities throughout the period their operation lasted.

Those in the market and other public institutions scampered in different directions, while the passers-by took refuge in nearby shops.

Stray bullets hit no fewer than ten persons during the operation. They were said to be receiving medical treatment at a teaching hospital in one of the neighbouring states.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Alberto Adeyemi, confirmed that two persons died during the daylight robbery.
