U.S. condemns terrorists attack on markets in Nigeria

The U.S. has condemned the recent terrorists attack on a market in Sabon Gari village of Borno, northeastern Nigerian.

The U.S. has condemned the recent terrorists attack on a market in Sabon Gari village of Borno, northeastern Nigerian.

The condemnation is contained in a statement by the Public Affairs Section, U.S. Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja.

In the statement,John Kirby, spokesperson of U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C. commiserated with the victims of the blast,

“We offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families and the friends of the victims.

“We will continue to support Nigeria’s efforts to bring those responsible for the attack, as well as previous attacks, to justice.

“As we have said before, the people of northern Nigeria deserve to live free from violence and terror.

“The United States continues to provide a range of counter-terrorism assistance to help Nigeria and its regional partners,” he said.

The US lauded the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian military, the security and defense forces of Chad, Niger, and Cameroon, for the gains they had made in the fight against Boko Haram.

“We will continue to work closely with the Nigerian government and our international partners to combat Boko Haram and assist the many victims of its senseless brutality,” he added
