The chairman of the group, Chief Dennis Anukwu, who stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Awka, said that the decision to endorse Ugwuanyi (Gburu Gburu) for the April 11, 2015 governorship polls has become imperative because of their firm belief that he would give quality leadership and governance to the good people of Enugu State.

THE Enugu State indigenes resident in Anambra State yesterday said they have endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship bid of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Anukwu, who hails from Amuri in Awgu Local Council of Enugu State, said that their optimism was hinged on the impeccable track record of the governorship candidate in the House of Representatives where he gave a strong voice and representation to his constituency in the National Assembly.

He said: “It is on record that Ugwuanyi has set an unprecedented record when it comes to effective voice of representation in the National Assembly. He is a strong voice and very active in the Lower Chamber than most of his contemporaries in our area”, the community leader noted.

Meanwhile, a woman leader, Mrs. Thelma Okechukwu, who collaborated the claims of Anukwu, said that the womenfolk in the state are solidly behind Ugwuanyi, who she noted, has made them proud with his wonderful empowerment packages for women and youths in the coal city state.
