Darlington Okoye, popularly known as ‘Speed Darlington’, has been summoned by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons following claims of sexual misconduct involving a minor.

The musician came under public purview after he claimed that he had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old minor.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency reported the matter to NAPTIP, urging a thorough investigation into the disturbing claims.

Following the backlash that emanated from the incident, Darlington, in a follow-up video, said that he just made the issue known to promote his new song.

He also issued an apology for any offence or discomfort caused by his remarks.

In a statement issued on Thursday, NAPTIP confirmed it has summoned Speed Darlington for questioning. The agency also warned that further action would be taken should he fail to comply.
