Uzodimma pledges commitment to end violence, criminality
•Says Recovered K.O Mbadiwe Varsity Worth N40b
Imo State Governor, Mr. Hope Uzodimma, has enjoined residents of the state to join him in thanking God for his doggedness in fully recovering the then Eastern Palm University, now renamed K. O. Mbadiwe University, Ogboko, Ideato South Local Council, Imo State worth N40b, from the hand of a former governor, Rochas Okorocha.
Uzodimma, who stated this in his new year message, yesterday, said lands formerly shared by the then administration around Shell Camp, Owerri, were also recovered among others, to safeguard the assets of the state government, vowing to recover in future any state assets taken illegally.
The statement said: “The recovery of the state’s KO Mbadiwe University worth N40b from a former governor and the shell Camp land were aimed at safeguarding the assets of the state.”
He also urged the residents to work in partnership with his administration to stamp out criminality and insecurity in 2022.

According to him, the over 74 per cent capital expenditure earmarked in this year’s budget on developmental projects indicated sign of good omen in the state, harping on the peaceful atmosphere for the envisaged development. He recalled the unwholesome activities of opposition elements to destabilise the state, thanking God that they were defeated.
The governor pleaded with the people to engage in actions that would bring about peace and stability.
