Governor ‘Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has said his administration will continue to use the state’s commonwealth for the common good.

The governor, while receiving members of Iseyin Development Union (IDU), led by the Aseyin of Iseyin, Abdul-Ganiyu Salaudeen, said all zones in the state would witness rapid development under his watch.

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, indicated that Iseyin indigenes visited the governor at the Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

While addressing the Iseyin people, Makinde told residents of the state to expect more monumental projects, adding that the projects would bring development to the state.

He explained that his administration will leave the state better than it met it, calling on all and sundry to join the government in its bid to develop the state.

Makinde, who promised that his administration would continue to spread out and develop the state, said: “Sincerely, I am overwhelmed by this show of appreciation because you are acknowledging the works I have been doing since I came into government.

“But, indeed, it is your money that is working, not the money of Seyi Makinde’s father; it is our commonwealth, and the essence of government is to use the commonwealth for the common good. This is what we will continue to do as an administration.”

Earlier, the National President, IDU, Bayo Raji, said that the visit was to thank the Makinde-led administration for the various monumental projects across Oyo, especially in Iseyin and Oke Ogun land.

Raji added that the government equally completed various abandoned projects across the state, noting that “the state has never had it so good” since the country’s Independence.
