The Convener, Healing Him & Her, Murielle Michel, has said if employers care about their employees, they will be concerned about their mental health.
Michel said this, yesterday, in Lagos, during a mental health training programme.
Michel said: “Mental health is so important, and the truth is, if we don’t start prioritsing our mental health, we will not be able to have healthy relationships. We will not be able to perform well at work or be able to function ultimately as people. I’m grateful that God gave me the grace to do this.
“This is my first time hosting this in Nigeria, but I have hosted it in the Caribbean, Europe and other places and now decided to bring it home. Through this, many people have been healed and transformed; many have come to me to testify about this and change their minds about committing suicide.”
On why she hosted the programme, she said: “I feel this is what God called me to do.”
She, however, advised, every organisation to be concerned about the mental health of their staff, if the employers really care about their employees.
“People don’t know how much they need this until we speak to them. Some people travelled to this place for the training and I get impressive responses. Mental breakdowns are on the rise and if we don’t do something, people mental health will be on decline; people must also prioritise taking care of themselves.
“Through this programme, I want to change people’s lives and improve their health mentally.”
On her part, Pastor Oyinkan Koku-Bazuaye, spoke about managing emotions to get the best from children.
