bayelsaTHE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been described as a home for the Ijaw nation and that both are inseparable.

Giving an insight into how his party would have an upper hand in the next governorship election in the state, the Chairman of Bayelsa State chapter of the party, Chief David Ferema Dokubo-Spiff in an exclusive interview with The Guardian over the weekend at his country home in Yenagoa, disclosed that the total population of the state belonged to the party, boasting that and it would sweep the December 5 poll.

“Bayelsa State is 100 per cent PDP, and it is the party of the Ijaw nation. That position has not changed, not even by the fact that we lost power at the centre. It is true that there have been certain rumours. It is true that a number of our members are thinking differently from our original concept, but many have said that they are defectors, but I call them distracted brethren of ours.

“They are distracted because what they are doing is not based on any definite ideological concept, but they are doing it.”

“They are distracted … they are doing not based on any definite ideological concept…”. Very true, political affiliations and changes therefrom, are not based on any ideological motives, but on ‘lootigical’ motives. Bayelsan politicians ‘changing’ over to APC from PDP remain basically PDP in outlook and methodology. Heineken Lokpobiri, Timipre Sylva and co are looking for fresh opportunities to loot. Hence, there is no real change because APC and PDP are two sides of the same coin. The other fringe parties like APGA, Labour are the edges of the same coin. Name of the coin is Naija politician.
