Wike seeks dialogue to recover ceded Rivers oil wells
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has stated that he preferred dialogue with the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and other concerned Federal Government agencies over some of the state oil wells that were taken to the neighbouring states by the past administration.
The governor spoke when members of the RMAFC led by Prof. Afolabi Popoola, paid him a courtesy visit, in the Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday.
Wike, who emphasized the need to review the current revenue allocation sharing formula, pleaded that there was need to review what currently goes into the coffers of the Federal, State and Local Governments in Rivers State.
While commending the team for undertaking what he described as a complex task which is necessary for the country, the Governor assured the delegates that the state is a safe place for them to carry out their assignments despite the false and exaggerated security reports from the media.
