Work hard to reduce insecurity, IGP charges new constables

As 616 Police Constables passed out from the Police Training School, Jos, Plateau State Capital, on Friday, the Inspector- General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has charged them to work hard to reduce the security challenges currently facing the country.
As 616 Police Constables passed out from the Police Training School, Jos, Plateau State Capital, on Friday, the Inspector- General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has charged them to work hard to reduce the security challenges currently facing the country.
Out of the number that passed out, 504 are males while 112 are females. Egbetokun, who congratulated the new constables, noted that they had been sufficiently equipped during their training for effective policing. He, however, noted that they would need the support of the public to work well wherever they are posted to work.
The police chief urged them to uphold justice, tenacity of purpose and the principle of justice and fairness, stressing that policing is more than a career. He reminded them that as they were going into the field, they would face situations where their patience might be exhausted but advised them not to be tired.
Egbetokun thanked the trainers of the constables for equipping them with the skills needed to go out and deal with the security challenges in the country.
“We are confident that you will serve with courage and uphold justice.
“Remember that our country is still facing security challenges of terrorism, banditry and others. Go out and eliminate them. You should reduce the security challenges. You must note that as you pass out day, we shall be monitoring you. The position of a constable is much respected,” the IGP said.
In her remarks, the Commandant, Police Training School, Jos, ASP Zipporah Jeremiah Obembe, heartily congratulated all the graduating constables having successfully completed their training and undergone their passing out parade.
Obembe charged them to show leadership and patriotism in the discharge of their responsibilities by positively contributing their utmost best in the overall development of the Nigeria Police Force in particular and Nigeria in general.
