Past president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Ismaila Muhammadu Zakari, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CFG Advisory, Tilewa Adebajo, and Partner (Assurance) at Deloitte, Omawunmi Omobolanle, are to make presentations at the fourth audit reporting workshop for the media, holding between October 25 and 26 in Lagos.

Adebajo is a renowned analyst and financial adviser. He would speak on “The Nexus Between State Budgets and Audit Reports.” Omobolanle, on the other hand, would expound on “Promoting Transparency in Governance Through Audit Reports” at the event, being organised by FrontFoot Media Initiative.

Zakari, an advocate for accountability and best practices, will guide participants on “Interpreting Audit Reports.” The Lagos leg follows three earlier workshops in Benin, Awka and Abuja. The Managing Director, Eluem Emeka Izeze, said the training is FrontFoot Media Initiative’s flagship capacity development programme and a collaborative media engagement for development inclusivity and accountability project under the auspices of Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism, with sponsorship from MacArthur Foundation.

He clarified: “Participants will learn how and where to locate the relevant reports, interpret the material, and write engaging news stories and features that will enlighten, stimulate and empower the electorate, and discourage impunity.”
