Niger empowers security agents with 20 vehicles to curb criminality

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, has directed security agents in the state to go after hoodlums disturbing the citizens, especially in Minna and environs, and bring them to justice.

The governor gave the order while inaugurating 20 operational vehicles he donated to security agencies, at Government House, Minna.

Expressing worry over security challenges in the state capital, Bago said he was optimistic that the vehicles would help curb the menace.

“I am giving you a marching order from this point to go after the hoodlums and bring them to justice,” he said.

He also ordered demolition of building used to sell hard drugs and confiscation of the items.

Out of the 20 vehicles, 12 were given to the police, while State Security Service (SSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) got two each. Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Hunters Group, and Anti-Drug Committee (ADC) received one each.
