Niger gov backs Musa for APC national chair seat

Senator Sani Musa

Niger State Governor, Sani Bello, has supported the aspiration of the lawmaker representing Niger East in the National Assembly, Senator Sani Musa, as next National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Musa is the chairman, Senate Services Committee in the upper chamber.

Speaking yesterday when he received the legislator in company of the National Assembly Niger caucus at Government House, Minna, Governor Bello said he would do whatever he could to see that Musa gets the seat.

He said: “It’s time for North Central to be fully represented and want someone from Niger State to occupy that position.”

The delegation, led by Senator Abdullahi Sabi, said the visit was to commiserate with the state government and officially unveil Musa.

The team condoled with the governor over recent attacks by bandits and terrorists in some local councils, praying for God’s intervention.

Briefing Bello, Senator Sabi said the time had come for them to return home and have audience with the governor as leader of the party in the state with a view to seeking his support for Musa’s aspiration.

Responding, the governor pointed out that he was happy that Musa “ is vying for the National Chairmanship position of the APC,” applauding the unity among members of the National Assembly members from the state.

He, subsequently, pledged his support to the actualisation of the aspirant’s goal.

The governor wished “Senator Musa success, as I will do whatever I can to see that he gets what he wants,” he added.
