Nigerian female tech leader facilitates multi-million dollar acquisition of Blinkist

Nigerian female tech leader facilitates multi-million dollar acquisition of BlinkistBerlin-based edtech startup, Blinkist, has been acquired by Go1 in a multi-million dollar deal, facilitated by Head of Operations and CFO, Adibeli Nduka-Agwu. Adibeli joined Blinkist in 2018 and quickly rose through the ranks, despite being a black woman in a predominantly western work environment.

Adibeli’s success is a testament to her determination and hard work, as well as Blinkist’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. In her own words, “Blinkist’s culture of diversity and inclusion remains one of the major factors that enabled me to perform at this level!”

Adibeli’s career has taken her across the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Sub-Saharan Africa, where she acquired the traits needed to thrive in diverse and challenging professional spheres. She recommends that young women be crystal clear on what they want and what they are willing to sacrifice to achieve it. For Adibeli, this involved spending 16 years of her life in five foreign countries, acquiring real-life education and experiences.

Despite her success, Adibeli acknowledges that failure is almost inevitable. Her advice to those experiencing a tough time is to not fail quietly, but to cry to someone, ask for help, and share with others. Adibeli’s mantra for career women going through tedious stages is “Chill woman, chill.”

Adibeli’s achievement in facilitating the acquisition of Blinkist is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and diversity in the workplace. We hope to see more professionals like her in the startup space.
