Nigerian film, The Bloom Boys, set for local, international airlines

The intersection of finance and film in Nigeria has reached new heights with the latest blockbuster, “The Bloom Boys,” thanks to the generous support of over 20 fintech and investment executives. Spearheaded by Effiong Editi, this cinematic achievement has captivated audiences worldwide, culminating in a recent acquisition by Netflix Inc.

“The Bloom Boys” follows the successful collaborations between fintech leaders and the Nigerian film industry, exemplified by the recent funding of “The Black Book,” produced by Oniyide Ifedayo and American-Nigerian ICT executive Ilyas Isiaka. This trend underscores the growing synergy between finance and entertainment, driving innovation and creativity within Nigeria’s dynamic cultural landscape.

Reflecting on the acquisition by Amazon Prime Video, executive producers Ilyas Isiaka and Oniyide Ifedayo expressed their enthusiasm for the future of Nigerian cinema. “This partnership with Amazon Prime Video marks a significant milestone for ‘The Bloom Boys’ and the Nigerian film industry as a whole,” remarked Ilyas. “It provides a platform for our story to reach audiences globally, opening doors for further collaboration and expansion,” added Ifedayo.

In addition to its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video, “The Bloom Boys” has secured distribution rights with Cinemax Distribution, ensuring broader access to audiences across Africa and beyond. Moreover, the film is set to soar to new heights in a few weeks, as it makes its debut onboard selected airlines, offering viewers and travellers in the diaspora an immersive cinematic experience.

“We are thrilled to partner with Cinemax Distribution to ensure local and international travellers enjoy ‘The Bloom Boys’ worldwide,” stated Ifedayo. “This milestone not only amplifies African voices on the global stage but also signifies a step towards greater inclusivity and representation in storytelling,” he added.

Currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video and screening in cinemas across Nigeria and West Africa, “The Bloom Boys” promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of Nigerian cinema. With its compelling narrative and innovative production, the film sets a new standard for excellence, showcasing the limitless potential of African storytelling on the world stage.
