National Vice President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), North Central Zone, El-Buba Sadiq, has urged Nigerians not to leave the country all in the hands of the political class, saying it is time for them to own and save their country.

El-Buba spoke with the press during the inauguration of the newly elected officials of PFN in Bauchi State, yesterday.

The cleric, who was in the state for a two-day city-wide crusade, urged Nigerians to pray more than ever in the face of myriad challenges confronting the country.

He said “Nigerians should pray much more than ever. They should know that nobody is going to change the country until a Nigerian is willing to change his own situation. If you leave it to the political elite, then you continue to be slaves; but if you think it is time to own this nation by ourselves, start that change. That is why is called democracy; government of the people, by the people and for the people.”

El-Buba condemned the continued killings on the Plateau, particularly the recent killing of some students of the Plateau State University (PLASU), describing it as a painful experience, but commended the military’s efforts in confronting the enemies.

“The military has been dealing with the terrorists and has been able to make gains that were not recorded for a long time.

“The PLASU incident was unfortunate. I think there were security lapses somewhere. The military should advance more forces into places and not just wait for the attackers to come in; but to go after the attackers and deal with them. We know their spot, it is time to get rid of them completely,” he added.
