No fewer than nine suspects were arrested by policemen and military persons for alleged involvement in various electoral crimes in Lagos.

The crimes allegedly committed by the suspects ranged from disturbing of public peace and gratification of voters.

Five persons were arrested in Ajegunle area of the metroplis by soldiers.The suspects were arrested in possession of cutlasses.One other person was arrested at the Ikoyi area of the metropols for allegedly causing problems at the Ikoyi area.

The State  Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress ( APC),Mr joe Igbokwe accussed the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) of formenting trouble in some areas they felt they were loosing.

Igbokwe however praised security Operatives for maintaining law and order

A visit to Ibeju Lekki.Ajah,Ekpe axis showed there was really low turnout by the Electorates. At Victoria  Garden City there was heavy turn out of voters.

A man who simply identified himself  as Mark blamed the low turn out on the alleged threat on the Ndi Igbo  by the Oba of Lagos,Rilwan Akiolu.

“People envisaged there was going to be crisis hence many people decided to stay at home to avoid problem.

Earlier there were rumours of crisis in various places but the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG)incharge of Zone 2 Mr Joseph Mbu dispelled the rumours.

He said”There was nothing like crisisis.what we are experiencing is that the social media will just send a message that there is problem somewhere and people will start panicking but when we race to the place,you find out that there is nothing happening there.”

Mbu who described the election as peaceful said arrests were made in the metropolis.

Two persons were arrested in Ilasan area of Ajah for allegedly gratifying electorates.

Lagos State Police spokesman, Ken ,Nwosu described the election as peaceful.

“The election was largely peaceful and hitch-free. The Commissioner of police is happy with politicians for their peaceful conduct and encourages all to maintain the peace even after the result is announced.” Nwosu said.

Lagos State Police Boss, Cornelius Aderanti however commended Lagosians and urged them to maintain the tempo.
