Following the resignation of Abdul Ningi as Chairman of Northern Senators Forum (NSF), Abdulaziz Yar’Adua (Katsina Central) has been named as his replacement.
NSF also named Muhammed Monguno (Borno North) as its new spokesperson to replace Sumaila Kawu. The announcement was made at plenary, yesterday, by President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
Ningi had resigned as NSF chairman, following his suspension for three months by the Akpabio-led Senate on Tuesday after a rowdy session. Ningi had alleged that N3.7 trillion, which is part of the N28.7 trillion budget for 2024 that was passed by the National Assembly could not be traced to projects.Kawu’s replacement, on the other hand, came as a surprise, as there was no indication he resigned his position as spokesperson of NSF.
