Notable Nigerians eulogise late Ayogu Eze at night of tributes

Tributes poured in on Tuesday night as family members, colleagues, friends, well-wishers, top government officials, captains of industries, clergymen, traditional rulers, and people from all walks of life, gathered in Enugu in honour of the late former Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial zone, Ayogu Eze.
   
The late Senator, who was, until his death, the representative of Enugu State at the Revenue Mobilisation Commission, died at the age of 65. His remains will be committed to mother earth tomorrow at his country home, Umuida, Igboeze North Council.
   
At the night of tributes, the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, said that he was devastated when the news of the Senator’s death was brought to him. The governor described the death of Eze as an irreparable loss for the state.
   
He said that Eze was his former colleague, friend and brother. Mbah said that they served under the same government. He condoled with the family of the late Senator and prayed to God to accept his soul in his blossom.
  
 Also, the former Governor of Old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo, described Eze as a man of integrity, who kept to his word.  “Eze was a very straight man, very accommodating.” He prayed for the repose of his soul. 

On his part, the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ossai, said that the late Eze was a friend, a man of many parts, very generous, courageous, and audacious, stressing that his sense of humor was next to none. 
  
Also, the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial zone, Okey Ezea, said that the late Senator was a real man and very intelligent. He prayed to God to grant his soul rest and to protect his family.
  
Others who spoke at the event, including Vin Martin Ilo, Bishop Deborah Macfoil, Justice Ada Obayi, Martins Oke, Ndoma Egba, Robert Anwatu, Capt. Ever Nnaji (rtd), Ayogu’s daughter, LotaChukwu Bamiboye, all spoke on their relationship with Ayogu.  They described him as a man who believed in himself and what he could offer to Enugu State andSheriff Oborevwori, Nigeria.
