NUPRC to move key departments to Lagos

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has announced that it is considering the possibility of relocating certain units to Lagos.

NUPRC, in a statement, said the move is in line with their objectives of improving organisational efficiency, driving industry growth and managing office accommodation in Abuja.

The Commission explained that the initiative is driven by the need to enhance service delivery, reduce operational costs and make adequate utilisation of their assets in Lagos.

It requested that each department identify and provide a list of units that can operate independently with minimal supervision.

Also, it stated that submissions are expected on or before the close of business on Friday, 23rd February 2024.

Similarly to NUPRC, the government announced that some departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will be moved to Lagos in January.

The minister of aviation and aerospace Festus Keyamo also announced last month that Lagos will now be the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
