FOR their commitment to education and the development of public primary and secondary schools in Lagos State, Oando Foundation has been presented with Category A’ award for the 2015 Lagos State ‘Support our Schools Initiative’ reward.

The ‘Support Our Schools Initiative’ is the brainchild of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola led administration, which seeks private sector involvement in the education of the Nigerian child.

Just recently, the state government celebrated and rewarded some companies, individuals and non-governmental organisations that have responded to the clarion call in which Oando Foundation was part of.

Receiving the award from the governor, the Director of the Foundation, Tokunboh Durosaro, remarked that the foundation, through its Adopt-a-School initiative, has impacted positively on many lives and was selected based on its contribution to the education sector in the state.

She said: “We are truly honoured to receive this award. At Oando Foundation, we recognise that investing in public primary schools has long term benefits and a multiplier effect. This is why we will continue to do our best to provide conducive learning environments and create access to quality education for children of school age in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.”
