Obi, Dangote, Channels, others for African Global Lifetime Inspirational Awards

Channels Television is a Nigerian-based TV station.

Some prominent Nigerian industrialists, politicians and other public figures, including Peter Obi, Jim Ovia, Aliko Dangote, Adams Oshiomhole and institutions such as Channels Television and MTN, among others, have been listed to be honoured at the maiden African Global Lifetime Inspirational Awards and the Nigerian Editors’ Dinner Nite Out slated for Eko Convention Centre, Lagos, on March 28.

The organisers, Newswatch Channel Media Limited, also listed Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Duoye Diri of Bayelsa and Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde of Oyo State for the awards.

According to the President/CEO, Newswatch Channel Media Group, David Irabor, the organisers are in talks with Independent Television and Radio Producers’ Association and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to give the award the effect it deserves.

Irabor explained that the awardees were chosen in recognition of their contributions to the country and in advancing the development of humanity in different spheres of life.

He described the awardees as role models fit to be emulated by youths, adding that by honouring them, his organisation is sending a signal to other well-meaning Nigerians that their good deeds for the society would not go unrewarded.

Irabor said organisations such as Zenith Bank and UBA are also listed for recognition at the event that would have ace musician, King Sunny Ade, on the bandstand.
