ODSCIA congratulates Aiyedatiwa, consoles Ondo govt, solicits for muslim deputy

The Ondo State Council for Islamic Affairs (ODSCIA) has congratulated the state governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his new position


The group, in a separate statement issued by the state Chairman Alhaji Akinpelumi Abibullahi and the state General Secretary Alhaji Atere Nasirullahi, however commensurate with the state government on the passing away of its former governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

In the congratulatory message, the leadership of the Islamic Affairs congratulated Aiyedatiwa on his elevation from the deputy governor to acting governor and governor, describing it as a divine agenda.

The council appealed that the position of the deputy governor should be given to a Muslim for equity and fairness.

While affirming the importance of appointing a deputy governor in line with the constitutional provision of governance, the council appealed that a Muslim be picked for the position of the deputy for equity and fairness.

“We in the Ondo State Council for Islamic Affairs will continue to pray for you and your cabinet to succeed in the onerous task ahead. God Almighty will guide you right.”

“We are equally using this opportunity to sympathise with you and the Ondo State Government on the transition of the former State Governor Arakunrin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.”

“May God grant you and the entire Government the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

It stated that the passing into eternity of the former Governor, was with rude shock which it said is from God stating that “we have come and surely to Him is our return.”

It stated that the tenure of Arakunrin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu will be remembered for security of lives and Properties of the people, visible and impactful projects, robust educational system in the state.
