Ogun: Abducted secondary school teacher regains freedom

A Secondary school teacher, Adelowo Adegbenjo, who was kidnapped on Wednesday, while going to his poultry farm after school hours, has regained freedom He was released on Thursday night, after spending two days in kidnappers’ den,


Adegbenjo is a teacher at Alabata Community High School, Odeda, along Abeokuta-Ibadan Road in Ogun State.

A source said that Adegbenjo was released after spending some days with the kidnappers.

He said: “We use this opportunity to thank you all for prayers, concerns and donations.”

The abductors had earlier contacted his family demanding a N50m ransom.

The source confirmed that there was payment before his release, but did not mention the exact amount because the money was contributed from different sources.

The source also said he was taken to the hospital due to the injury he sustained, but was back at home. He disclosed this, yesterday, in a phone interview with The Guardian.
