Ogun PDP inagurates presidential campaign committee

CITING excellent performance in office as the reason, former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has appealed to Nigerians to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election.

    Daniel who spoke in Abeokuta insisted that despite all the criticisms trailing Jonathan’s administration’s performance in office, he had performed creditably well than all his predecessors in office.

    He spoke at the inauguration of a 22-man Ogun State “Presidential Advisory campaign Committee “for Jonathan’s re-election.

     Daniel argued that Jonathan’s administration had done a lot in transforming the country.

     The committee members were Hon. Segun Seriki as State Coordinator, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable (Mrs)Titi Shodunke-Oseni, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Honourable Dave Salako, Chief (Mrs) Iyabo Apampa, former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Alhaji Sarafadeen Ishola, former State chairman of the party, Elder Joju Fadairo, Chief Remi Bakare. 

    Others were Chief (Mrs) Gloria Shoda, Alhaji Lamidi Odulawa, Senator Ayodeji Otegbola, Chief Kola Onadipe and Daniel as Adviser General. 

     However, Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Dimeji Bankole,the National Auditor of the party, Alhaji Wole Adeyanju, the State chairman of the party, Mr.Bayo Dayo, the state chairman of Subsidy Re-Investment Programme (SURE-P), Chief Kayode Ajibola, former deputy governor of the state, Alhaja Salmot Badru, Senator Kola Bajomo, Chief Babatunde Fadun and Senior Special Adviser to President Jonathan (Public Communications), Dr. Doyin Okupe were not present at the ceremony.

   “I stand before you and you know that I have never deceived you, that President Goodluck Jonathan is one of the best performing Presidents in the history of our country. For many years, the train system in Nigeria collapsed. It is as if we are now dreaming, to now find out that train in Nigeria has started to work. This was made possible by Goodluck Jonathan administration”.

     Daniel added, “We don’t want to talk about what has happened to our roads, but from the totality of what we have seen in our environment, the work on the roads from Lagos-Sagamu-Ibadan and from Lagos- Shagamu-Benin and many other roads, I must tell you that I have travelled far and wide in this country, in terms of roads construction, we must give it to President Jonathan”.

     “With what we have said on the roads and railways, we can equally say it about the nation’s airports. For those of you who travel by air, you will discover that what has happened in terms of renovations in all our airports worth commendations”, the former Governor affirmed.

    According to him “The totality of what I have said is that in terms of dividends of democracy, President Goodluck Jonathan is number one”. 

   Seriki in his remarks called on Nigerians to vote massively for Jonathan and other candidates of the party vying for different political posts.

  He maintained that only the party, if voted into power would continue to move the nation forward.
