Ogwugwua returns as Aniocha North LGA NULGE chairman

Comrade Collins Ogwugwua has been re-elected as the branch Chairman, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Aniocha North Local Government Council, Delta State.

Ogwugwua was declared Winner having scored 242 votes to defeat two other candidates, Comrade Chris Mosindi and Comrade Jumbo Michael who scored 169 and 29 votes respectively in a branch NULGE election conducted on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the premises of the Council Secretariat in Issele-Uku.

The election conducted by a 3-Man Electoral Panel from the State Headquarters of NULGE was witnessed by the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) of the Council, Mr. Bartrend Ojeah and the Treasurer to the Council, Mrs. Victoria Fregane with a Local Organizing Committee complimenting the efforts of the Electoral Officials from the State.

State President, NULGE, Delta State, High Comrade Ziko Okwudi voted at the election, being that Aniocha North Local Government Council, is his primary duty post.


Comrade Ogwugwua Collins with others elected were certified and declared returned by the 3-Man Electoral panel led by Comrade Cyril Ozegbe.

Others who were elected to superintend the affairs of the Union in the Local Government Council included, Comrade Stephen Oliseafiana; Vice Chairman, Comrade Juwe Kenneth Nedu; Secretary, Comrade Chiejine Florence; Woman Leader, Comrade Mordi Ifeanyi; Treasurer and Comrade Augustine Ojeah; Assistant Secretary.

The Branch Union also elected Comrade Felicia Anazia; Trustee, Comrade Ijeh Precious Elue; PRO, Comrade Lucy Nwajei; Auditor and Comrade Peter Ogadi; Young Workers Representatives.


Reacting to his re-election, Comrade Collins Ogwugwua expressed appreciation to God for the success of the election and commended the State President and members of the State Executives Council of the Union for giving them a level playing ground for the election, even as he appreciated the 3-Man Electoral Panel as well as the Head of Personnel Management of the Council, Mr. Bartrend Ojeah, the Treasurer, Mrs Victoria Fregene and the Local Organizing Committee for ensuring a near seamless election.

Comrade Ogwugwua was full of praise for members of the Union in the Local Government Council for their uncommon love for him which he noted was expressed through their massive votes for him at the election.

He pledged to continue to carry every member of the Union along and to place a high premium to their welfare as he resumed in his second tenure as the Chairman of the Union in Local Government Council.

While commending his opponents for putting up a commendable and spirited fight during the election, Ogwugwua maintained that the election was a no Victor, no vanquish one, even as he extended his hands of fellowship to all members towards moving the Union to a more United and formidable Force to press on for the collective rights of the Body of Workers in the Local Government Council.
