The newly-appointed Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Dr Tunji Olowolafe, has initiated an innovative project to harness the boundless potential of Nigeria’s youths through a global Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) platform.

Olowolafe, who spoke during the 28th convocation of the institution, expressed gratitude to the state’s governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for appointing him as the chancellor of EKSU.

The chancellor, while pledging his unflinching support to the growth and transformation of the university, said he would create a dedicated BPO platform for the institution’s top 100 graduates to empower them to be able to contribute to the global economy while honing their skills through meaningful and sustainable work.

“I believe in harnessing the untapped potential of our youths, particularly in fields like business process outsourcing.

“To this end, I am excited to create a platform for 100 of our brightest minds to engage in work that challenges them and grows their skills,” he said.

In another groundbreaking announcement, Olowolafe unveiled the launch of a N1billion innovation fund designed to empower agro-tech companies founded by Ekiti State University’s students and graduates.

He also announced the establishment of a new programme to subsidise capacity-building for academic members of staff of the institution, saying: “I am also delighted to announce the establishment of a new programme, which I will be endowing, designed to offer support and subsidies for up to 30 academic members of staff. This initiative aims to facilitate their participation in international conferences, training sessions, and research activities.”
