Omo-Agege to deliver Idahosa varsity convocation lecture

Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, will today, deliver the 16th convocation lecture of the Benson Idahosa University (BIU) in Edo State.

Briefing journalists ahead of activities to herald the ceremonies, Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Sam Guobadia, said the university has strong faculties with global academic authorities and international affiliations, as well as exciting campus life and healthy spiritual atmosphere.


Reeling out activities for the convocation ceremonies, Guobadia said Omo-Agege would deliver the convocation lecture titled: Nigeria’s Democratic Experience Since 1999: The Imperative Of Reforming The Electoral Process.

He said other personalities for the event are Minister of State for Power, Goddy Jedy Agba and Vice Chairman of FAMFA Oil, Folorunsho Alakija, among others who will be conferred with honourary doctorate degrees in Public and Business Administration.

Guobadia added that 523 students, comprising 37 First Class honours, 382 Second Class, 16 Third Class and 88 post-graduate students, including seven doctorate degrees, 39 masters degrees, 42 post-graduate diploma students will be graduating at the ceremony.
