Ondo: APC has come to stay as Akeredolu lays foundation of secretariat

Akeredolu

Contrary to speculations that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may soon collapse across the nation, Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), yesterday, said the party had come to stay.

He spoke in Akure during the foundation-laying ceremony of a new APC State Secretariat Complex, sequel to the burning of the old one by hoodlums during the #EndSARS protest last year.

He laid the foundation stone along with the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah; the Deputy Governor-Elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Speaker, state House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun, his deputy, Samuel Aderoboye and other Assembly members.

Other party leaders present were: former deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, his successor, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, former APC chairman, Isaac Kekemeke, Amb. Sola Iji, former Assembly Speaker, Kenneth Olawale, members of the State Executive Council (SEC) and several others.

Akeredolu said building the secretariat would further strengthen the party and show APC has come to stay in the state, as an established political party.

“I wish to stress that this is not Ondo State government project, rather it is purely APC affairs. This is neither about Akeredolu nor about Adetimehin. It is about our party.”

Acting party Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, lauded the governor for his unparalleled performance, which earned victory in the last October 10, 2020 governorship election.
