One word from God

Amadi

We are in the days and times when so many voices speak to us. We hear many voices and many words; all speaking to us at one time or the other. We have human voices speaking to us, speaking over our challenges and speaking over our needs. Every human being has one challenge or the other he/she grappling with. We have medical voices speaking to us about our health and many other strange voices speaking about our needs. Voices are powerful because they shape our lives. But listening to the wrong voice can impact your life negatively. Words have power. They can build or they can break.

We also have satanic and demonic voices speaking to people. The book of Job 1:6 says as God’s Angels were meeting God that Satan was also amid them. When God asked Satan where he was coming from, he replied that he was coming from all over the world (Job 2:2).

The devil roams about throughout the world, going back and forth speaking fear, hopelessness and confusion into the lives of many people. There is confusion in so many minds because people are listening to all these voices. Sometimes, when we try to seek solutions from medical experts, their voices create fear and sometimes hopelessness in us. God does not intend that the believer in Christ be bound by these voices we are hearing. It is not the intention of God for us to run with these voices. He wants us to run with His own voice, what He tells us is what prevails; what He says is what comes to pass and what He says proffers solutions to our problems.

God intends to regularly drop His words in our hearts and He intends to regularly make us know His mind concerning our situations. A word from the Lord will enable you excel and operate above all forces around you. Just one word from the Lord will help you fulfill purpose. Our complete confidence should rest on the authority of the Word of the God.

In Luke Chapter 7, the centurion, a high ranking soldier whose servant was sick and about to die expressed his absolute confidence in Jesus’ authority when he said to Jesus: “Don’t trouble yourself, Sir! I’m not important enough for you to come into my house — I didn’t even think I was fit to come to you in person. Just speak a word please, and my servant will recover,” (Luke 7:6-7). When the men, who the centurion sent to meet Jesus returned to the house, they found the sick servant healed (Luke 7:10). Jesus was greatly impressed by this soldier, not by his high-ranking position or material generosity, but by the quality and magnitude of his simple faith.

The centurion said to Jesus: “Just speak the word!” Jesus was astonished! The centurion was like a king in his own territory and there he was authorised to speak for a higher king, Caesar and so he knew what authority was. Dallas Willard said concerning the centurion: “He knew what it was to command an event. He knew that Jesus was doing the same kind of thing, so, it was a simple matter for him to step into the situation by faith.” (Hearing God, p. 130). Be still and quiet in trying moments to hear just one word from God. Just one word from God will settle your case.
