The Onne Port Complex of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has received a container vessel with Length over All (LOA) of 300netres.

The vessel christened “KOTA CEMPAKA” with International Maritime Organisation (IMO) number 9638965 sailing under the flag of Singapore shipped in 566 laden containers berthed at the port on April 27, 2024.

The Onne Port Complex has yet again demonstrated its capacity and readiness for large ship call with the successful berthing of the large container vessel.

Responding to the development, the Managing Director of NPA, Mohammed Bello-KoKo, said this is a confirmation of the capacity and readiness of Eastern Ports for vessel traffic.

He said this also shows that the authority’s investments in channel navigability and security are yielding results, saying, “We will sustain our advocacy for the patronage of the Eastern Ports.”

Coming after berthing earlier of vessel “Maersk Stadelhorn” also measuring 300 Meters LOA and “MV Lady Jane” with 295 Meters LOA , this development shows Onne Port is poised to sustain its growing fortunes.
