Ooni urges Nigerians to support Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the present administration despite Insecurity and economic imbalance that the President Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope mantra of a new Nigeria will be achieved with all hands on deck.

Oni was speaking at the 13th Convocation ceremony of Caleb University in Imota, Lagos when the institution graduated 1,209 for the academic section of 2022 to 2023

He urged the government to fix the Ikorodu–Itokin road to ease the suffering of Nigerians for economic prosperity of the southwest and Nigeria as a whole.

“I wish our leaders witness what ordinary Nigerians are facing on a daily basis and for once come out of their comfort zone to see people suffering,” Ogunwusi said.


“I am actually here to witness the greatness coming out of this great institution of learning.”

The Guest Speaker, Lagos state Commissioner for Information and strategy Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, while delivering his speech Tagged “Closing the generational gap between the old and young in Nigerian politics disclosed that bridging the generational gap between the old and young in Nigerian politics is not merely a goal but imperative for the nation progress.

He stated that the youth need to become more involved in political parties, parliament, political appointments, Civil spaces and as well as elections as a matter of right and as part of the solution rather than a problem to be resolved by others.


Omotosho noted that as the nation grapples with these dynamics, it becomes imperative for both generations to collaborate and learn from each other’s experiences and forging a path that combines the wisdom of the past with the innovation and energy of the present to tackle the challenges of the future.

“To Further harness the peculiar talent of youth in the state, governor Babajide Sanwo-olu has prioritized youth empowerment in all its budgets.”

He pointed out that the establishment of the Lateef jakande leadership Academy stands a significant milestone, Mirroring the efforts of the sanwo – olu administration to play a crucial role in advocating youth inclusion in politics and leadership through dedicated research initiatives and capacity- building Programmes.


“This entity is equipping young people with the tools to analyze political issues and engage in constructive dialogue.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Caleb University, Professor Nosa Owens-Ibie said at Caleb University, the commitment to operating on Christian principles has combined beautifully with the Character-in-Leadership mantra which has defined a core orientation for students and staff which continue to yield graduates who are

Giving the breakdown of the graduating students, Professor Nosa Owens-Ibie said for the undergraduate degrees, 60 graduated with first Class, Second Class (Upper):428; Second Class (Lower): 494; Third Class: 20; Total: 1002, For Higher Degrees: PhD-9, Distinction: 18 and Pass: 180. The total number of graduating students: 1,209.
