SIR: There is the Ikeja industrial area where many companies are sited. Examples of these companies include Dunlop, which produces motor tyres, textile companies and BedFord Motor at Apapa in Lagos State. Many of these places have been turned to worship areas. This could have been one of the ways to create job opportunities to grow this great country.
Over the years, the challenges of life have become the problem of this country, even now. I believe if the above mentioned companies are revived, thousands of youths will be employed and the economy will surely improve. Intensive skill acquisition centres will be created to equip skillful and serious youths, and in turn, poverty, crime and unemployment rates will be reduced.
Leaders should be more proactive in thinking of ways to serve the hungry youth rather than what they stand to benefit. A lack of what to engage in has forced many to engage in harmful and deadly habits. I know we have brilliant minds in research institutes that are under-utilised, but these individuals find their ways out of the country in search of better livelihood and excel in other countries all over the world.
I quite understand that we have a listening president and a visionary leader and I am pleading for you to look into this issue. Fuel subsidy has been removed and more allocations have been given out monthly to all governors for the improvement and creation of beautiful things for the citizens to enjoy.
Kindly follow up sir, to ensure that these allocations are used for the right purposes, for the betterment of the masses to see and feel the impact of the Renewed Hope agenda, which is your vision. When the poor people on the street begin to feel the impact of good governance, nobody would need to tell them the right things to say or do. Let the right things be done at the right time.
No policies introduced for implementation are bad but it is those assigned to implement them that are our problems in this country. Many times it is bad selection and bad leaders, at times, fail to make the dream come true. But when these policies are checked and performance is measured, performance improves and when performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates.
Sir, life is like a supermarket, it is the price you put on the products that people will pay. May you try to put a price of higher value on our country that will bring better results and place this country in such high esteem that others will be willing to visit and invest in it. Thank you sir, God bless you and God bless Nigeria.
