Reigning African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala’s bicycle kick against Benfica, has been voted the 2023/24 UEFA Women’s Champions League Goal of the Season.

Oshoala’s strike, which was on matchday 1, was picked as the best among the top 10 goals selected by UEFA’s Technical Observer panel. Barcelona won the game 5-0.

Oshoala’s former teammate at Barcelona, Aitana Bonmatí took second spot for her bending effort in the quarter-final second-leg win against Brann.

Lyon star Delphine Cascarino finished third for her long-range strike in the quarter-final second-leg victory over Benfica.

Despite leaving Barcelona in February 2024, for Bay FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the US, Oshoala got a Champions League winners medal after the Spanish side beat Lyon 2-0 in the final.
