Ossi says employability summit for digital professionals recorded success

The founder of Career Ready Pro, Oyindamola Ossi, has said the employability summit for African digital professionals was a success.

Ossi said the idea of the programme was nurtured to upskill African talent with the requisite tools for success in the global job market.


She said the summit themed, “The Africa Employability Summit 2.0: The Rising of the African Talent,” which held on November 11-12, 2023 attracted over 1,000 participants across Africa, building upon the success of its inaugural edition in 2021 with over 700 participants from 13 countries.

The Tech-savvy boss said the summit convened a diverse group of ambitious individuals aspiring to become global talents and elevate their employability chances in the digital and traditional ecosystem.

“Positioned as a catalyst for addressing unemployment gaps in Africa, the Africa Employability Summit is strategically designed to furnish young African talent with the requisite tools for success in the job market, emphasising the importance of leveraging in-demand digital skills,” she said.

The Head of People and Culture at ABSA Africa, Yogendra Soobarah, who delivered a keynote speech on “Bridging the Skills Gap: Developing African Talent for the Future of Work,” shared insights and experiences that resonated deeply with the audience.

The summit also recorded tech founders as panel speakers including, Co-Founder SkillPaddy Nigeria, Ope Adetomiwa and Chief Executive Officer of BAG Innovations Rwanda, Yussouf Ntwali.

The panel sessions was anchored by top global experts, tech recruiters, tech founders, and entrepreneurs offering practical guidance on Leveraging In-Demand Digital Skills for Career Growth, The Changing Dynamics of the Global Talent Space and How Africans Leverage It and The Entrepreneurial and Global Mindset: Seizing Opportunities and Innovating Yourself.

Ossi is deeply committed to advancing the growth and strategic placement of African talent.

In pursuit of this goal, she is actively engaged in the development of Africa’s first user-friendly CV builder, leveraging the power of artificial intelligence.

This innovative tool “VAMP” is designed to empower ambitious professionals by enabling them to construct a comprehensive CV in 10 minutes, thereby expediting their job search process and catalyzing their careers.
