Our activities have saved over N5.4b, port taskforce claims

Moses Fadipe
The National Coordinator of the Port Standing Task Team (PSTT), Moses Fadipe, said over N5.4 billion has been saved for vessel owners and captains of vessels since the inauguration of the team.

Fadipe stated this on the sideline of the first meeting of the enlarged Presidential PSTT in Lagos yesterday.

According to him, the team’s mandate is strictly to carry out necessary anti-corruption activities that would help dismantle the network fueling logjam within the ports’ areas.

He stated that effective the 3rd of April 2023, all complaints concerning port logistic rings and the environment, would be addressed in less than 30 days.

He said: “As we start from Monday, all complaints that have been made in this meeting concerning the port logistics ring and environment will be duly addressed in less than 30 days.

“You have heard all the stakeholders complain about touts everywhere… We are assuring you that by next week, you will see us moving out to bring about a tremendous change in the area of touting in the port corridors.”
