Oyetola orders inclusion of rural dwellers’ demands in 2022 budget

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has directed the immediate compilation of needs of people at the grassroots for subsequent inclusion in the 2022 budget.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, disclosed this to newsmen in Osogbo, yesterday, during a press conference commemorating his first year in office.

According to Oyintiloye, Oyetola supported civic engagement because of his desire to raise the standard of people in the rural communities.


He said community engagement had been taken to over 1,000 villages in the state in the last one year, adding that their demands had been noted by the governor and plans being concluded to allocate funds to better the lives of people living in the rural communities.

He added that Oyetola had directed the civic engagement office to embark on community outreach and engagement, advocacy and enlightenment, as well as security and conflict resolution.

According to Oyintiloye, the intention was to get feedback from people to enable him form part of policy formulation cycle, thereby, facilitating a more participatory and all-inclusive governance for the sustenance of democracy and plenary development of the state.
