The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state has called on the State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi to “wake up from his slumber” and set machineries in motion to ensure the well-being of Oyo State people, who have been groaning under the weight of economic hardship foisted on them by the incumbent government.

The chairman of the party in Oyo State, Alhaji Olayinka Taiwo, in a statement made available to reporters in Ibadan berated the governor for running a one-man show following his failure to appoint commissioners and others who would administer the alongside with him.

Taiwo, while lauding the governor for heeding the PDP’s advice on reduction in the expenses for running the government by pruning the number of ministries said he had no excuse for the current inactivity that has grounded the state and brought untold hardship to the people of the state, because he ran the state for four years and should have a reasonable blueprint for its running by now.

“Our party views the inactivity in governance in the state more than a month after the second term inauguration of the governor as a bad development. It is quite worrisome that Governor Ajimobi, after four years in office, is still comporting himself like a first term governor, who would have excuses about learning the ropes or sabotage from predecessors. We sincerely hope that this governmental slow motion is not going to ruin Oyo State; as workers continue to be owed and the economy continues to suffer.
