Paris 2024 Olympics: Falcons can’t stop us, Banyana Banyana boasts

Super Falcons

Banyana Banyana of South Africa defender, Noko Matlou, believes they have an edge over the Super Falcons when they clash in the winner-takes-all final round of the qualifying series for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

South Africa and Nigeria will slug it out in the final round of the qualifiers with Super Falcons hosting the first leg at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. And Matlou said their recent victories over the Super Falcons have given them the advantage going into the game.

“We played Nigeria a few times, and we won the last four. I believe we have a chance to qualify for the Olympics, I do believe we will qualify,” said Matlou.

Also looking forward to a successful outing against Nigeria, Banyana Banyana Coach, Desire Ellis, said the clash between the two rivals would be a do-or-die affair.

The CAF Coach of the Year said her team will plan for an early training camp to give them a bigger chance against the nine-time African champions.

“We want to have an early camp, we will improve our chances when we prepare early and very well,” she said.
