PDP candidate, Usman, declared winner of Kaduna Central senatorial poll

People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Lawal Adamu Usman, has polled 225,066 votes to emerge winner of the Kaduna Central senatorial election.


He defeated Abdullahi Muhammad Sani (Dattijo) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who came second with 182,035 votes.

Sani is a former Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Planning and Budget to Governor Nasir el-Rufai.

In the result declared by Prof. Haruna Aminu of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Labour Party (LP) candidate, Ibrahim Muhammad Sani, came third with 87,510 votes.

Umar Ahmad Tijjani of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) took fourth place with 24,395 votes.

The returning officer declared Usman, popularly known as LA, as winner of the election, after securing the highest number of valid votes cast.
