The governor assured residents of his administration’s commitment towards transforming the state in the coming months. IN Niger State, Governor Mohammed Bago, joined thousands of Muslims that converged on the Central Eid Prayer ground in Kontagora Local Council to perform the two-unit congregational prayers marking the end of the Ramadan fast and Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The governor, in an interview after the prayers, called on the Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons learnt in the month of Ramadan. He emphasised the need for them to remain selfless and kind, as well as maintain good neighbourliness, while sustaining their prayers for peace in the land and for the success of government at the state and federal levels.

Erstwhile governor, Senator Abubakar Bello (Niger North), expressed gratitude to God for witnessing another Eid-el-Fitr, while praying to God to protect the country and end all forms of insecurity.

SENATOR Sunday Katung (Kaduna South) has urged Muslims in the various communities in the area to eschew violence and live in peace with their neighbours for the development of Southern Kaduna.

Katung, in a message to end the Ramadan fasting, urged Muslims in Southern Kaduna to join their neighbours to end the security challenges facing the people.

He noted that selfless sacrifice and communal love, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Ishmael, should guide the faithful as they submit to the will of God. “Let us continue to practise the lessons of tolerance, perseverance and love for our neighbours that we learned during Ramadan.”
