Police arrest cultist ‘hitman and armorer’ in Ogun


The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber, cultist, and kidnapper in Ogun State.


This was confirmed in a statement by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in the early hours of Monday.

“The Ogun State Police Command, on Saturday, 27th January 2024, at about 2:30 am, arrested One Abdul-Azeez Ibrahim, aka Butcher, m, in Ijebu Ode area,” Adejobi posted on X.

Adejobi said Ibrahim is the hitman and armorer for the Neo-Black Movement of Africa, aka Black Axe, in Ijebu Ode.


According to the police spokesman, the suspect is an extra-year student of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Adejobi added that the Ogun State Police Command will address the media on this case and many others.

The police spokesperson also said that the locally fabricated rifles, capable of firing AK47 ammunition, found on Ibrahim were made by one Pam Chung, m, of Plateau State.

Adejobi said they were recovered from him and two others, who are currently in Police custody for further investigations.
