Police arrest man, teenager son for killing neighbor’s wife

Two men, Chizoke Obiadada (54) and his teenage son, Micheal Obiadada (17), have been arrested by Ogun State Police for allegedly beating their neighbour, Tope Owoade (43), to death.

Police’s spokesperson, SP Omolona Odutola, in a statement on Saturday, disclosed that the incident occurred on March 28th, 2024, at approximately 8:30 pm during an argument.

The misunderstanding reportedly started when the deceased disapproved of the Obiadadas sitting on her “worktable,” which she used for selling “Pomo” (processed animal skin).

According to the Odutola, the Obiadadas hacked Tope Owoade with fit blows, beating her up mercilessly, and inflicting fatal injuries on her.

The victim’s husband, Isiaka Owoade, reported that upon returning home from a trip on March 29th, his wife informed him of an altercation with the Obiadadas the prior day.

Isiaka said his wife suffered injuries that resulted in her bleeding severely from the womb and her private parts.

Owoade said that he rushed his wife to two private hospitals (Main Frame Private Hospital and Kunle Hospital Atan Agowa), but she was refused treatment at both.

He further stated that his wife gave up the ghost while being taken to a government hospital.

The police spokesperson stated that the culprits have been arrested and are currently undergoing preliminary investigations.

The case, according to Odutola, will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

The policeman also noted that efforts have been made to deposit the deceased in the OOUTH Sagamu mortuary for post-mortem examination.
