Police arrest man with 14 ATM cards in Ogun

Ogun State Police Command has arrested a middle-age man, Ugodalo Agbato, with 14 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards bearing different holders’ names.

Also, N16,800 cash was recovered from the suspect alongside other exhibit.


The Guardian learnt that the arrest followed a successful raid by the command in Atan Ota, aimed at clearing the state of hideouts.

Confirming the development in a statement yesterday, spokesperson for the command, SP Omolola Odutola, said shop owners had raised the alarm over incidences of theft.

According to her, they complained that since January, criminals had carted away valuables worth millions of naira.

She said after several complaints, a raid was carried out by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the Atan Ota area, which led to the arrest of a suspected serial burglar.

“Preliminary investigations have commenced, the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, in Abeokuta for further investigation,” Odutola added.
