Police arrest suspects terrorising Adamawa, Taraba borders

Taraba State Police Command has arrested three suspects for terrorising Adamawa and Taraba borders.
  
Parading the suspects, yesterday, at the Command’s headquarters in Jalingo, the state Commissioner of Police, Yusuf Suleiman, said one AK 47 rifle was also recovered from the operation.
  
The Commissioner, who spoke through the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Usman, gave the names of the arrested suspects as Mohammed Umar, 20, Suleiman Usman, 21, and Mohammed Juli, 22.
 


He said three suspects namely: Umar Mohammed, Mohammed Yellow and Ibrahim Garba, are still at large.
  
The Commissioner, said the Command, in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, would not relent in its efforts to sustain a serious manhunt on bandits and other perpetrators of crimes within the state.
  
He stressed that the Command has launched a manhunt on the criminals hibernating in some identified hot spots within Taraba and Jalingo metropolis.
  
The move, he said, became necessary following public outcry on the nefarious activities of these criminal elements operating within the state, particularly Jalingo metropolis.
   
Reiterating the Command’s commitment to ensuring security and safety of the life and property of the people, the commissioner warned that all criminals and enemies of peace in the state would have no hiding place in the state.
    
The Command also urged citizens to always report criminal activities to the nearest police station.
  
On the recent abduction of the caretaker chairman of Takum Local Council, the Commissioner of Police said, the command, in collaboration with sister security agencies, are working round the clock to rescue him from the abductors’ den.
