Police in Ibadan parade ‘Auxiliary’ for alleged murder, kidnapping

Oyo State Police Command, yesterday, paraded a former chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System (PMS), Mukaila Lamidi, popularly called ‘Auxiliary’, for alleged murder, armed robbery, and kidnapping.

Auxiliary was declared wanted months ago over his alleged involvement in several cases. He was arrested by officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) at about 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at his residence in the Olodo area of Ibadan.

Items found in his possession include: one AK-47 rifle, four AK-47 magazines, 84 live AK-47 ammunition, 19 pump action rifles, one Beretta pistol, seven cut-to-size guns, one English-made double barreled gun.

Others are: 724 live cartridges, 25 cutlasses, seven Jack knives, 33 mobile phones, one Samsung laptop, charms, one Mazda bus, one Toyota Sienna car, and N3.4 million.

Speaking before journalists at the Command’s headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, the Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, said the suspect would be charged to court for the alleged offences.Hamzat disclosed that a lot of dangerous weapons, ammunition and cash were recovered from him.

The commissioner reiterated the determination of the police to deal decisively with any criminally-motivated individual or group that intended to return the state into dark days.
