The police in Kaduna have arrested a notorious bandit and leader of a terrorist gang allegedly responsible for kidnapping in Plateau State.
The suspect, Abdulkarim Maude, was arrested with charms, money and a weapon in Upara Warsapiti, Lere Local Council of Kaduna State.

He confessed to involvement in kidnapping for ransom, alongside other members from Binchim village in Bassa Local Council of Plateau State.

Confirming the development in a statement, yesterday, the spokesperson for Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Saminaka, acting on credible intelligence, successfully arrested Abdulkarim Usman Maude, 33, from Tudun Wada Mariri on May 22, at about 10:00 a.m.

Hassan explained: “Upon his arrest, the suspect was found in possession of a bag containing N347,000, a machete, and some charms. During interrogation, Maude confessed to being involved in kidnapping for ransom, along with one Alhaji Yakubu and two others from Binchim village.

“The recovered money was identified as his share of the ransom collected from the kidnapping of two tractor operators, Yau Balele, 45, and Lukman Abubakar, 40, who were abducted on May 17, while working on the farm of Alhaji Gambo. The victims were taken to Binchim Hills, Bassa Local Council, and were released on May 20, 2024.”
