Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has credited the smooth Yuletide celebration in the state to divine intervention.  The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Usman Abdullahi, emphasised the significance of divine protection in ensuring security in the state during the festive season.
  
Speaking with The Guardian, yesterday, Abdullahi highlighted the relentless efforts of the police command, stating that they spared no effort in preventing miscreants from disrupting the celebration. 
 
 He mentioned the continuous work undertaken by law enforcement agents to safeguard the life and property of residents, employing measures such as increased presence in worship centres and the deployment of personnel for visibility and confidence-building patrols.
 
 “The command beefed up security in all worship centres and environs, engaging in visibility patrols and confidence-building efforts,” stated Abdullahi.
 He further noted the deployment of officers across the state, ensuring a comprehensive security presence in both urban and remote areas.
  
The Commissioner of Police (CP) played a pivotal role in overseeing the security arrangements throughout the festive period, with officers stationed strategically on highways, in worship centres, and various locations across the state,” he said.
  
Abdullahi acknowledged the identification of potential hotspots, affirming the command’s successful management of the areas.  He attributed their achievements to the dedication of the police force and collaborative efforts with sister security agencies, vigilantes, and professional hunters.
  
“We collaborated with other security agencies, in conjunction with vigilantes and professional hunters, implementing a range of security measures,” explained Abdullahi, who added that tactical teams and operational machinery were fully deployed to ensure a secure and incident-free Yuletide celebration.
  
Despite the success, Abdullahi declared the commitment of the command to maintaining a vigilant stance, working tirelessly to transform Taraba into a haven for all residents.
