The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, the Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, and the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose and others have endorsed President Bola Tinubu and the incumbent Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for a second term in office.
While expressing his support for Tinubu and Oyebanji, the Ondo State governor disclosed that the 23 governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are also supporting Oyebanji for a second term.
On his part, the Senate Leader, Bamidele, warned the people against falling for the antics of political foes, especially from the newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, which, according to him, would be coming to cajole them with lies.
They noted this yesterday at the state-wide endorsement of President Bola Tinubu and Oyebanji for a second term.
Also, Oyebanji has accepted to run for a second term, following a series of endorsements by party leaders and stakeholders in the state.
The Governor of Ondo State declared that his Ekiti State counterpart, in the last three years, has demonstrated capacity and commitment towards the development of the state.
“I am here today in solidarity with my brother and friend, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and to declare my total support for his second term, because he has touched lives across all sectors of the economy.
“Let me inform our people in Ekiti State that all of us in the Progressive Governors Forum are in support of Oyebanji for a second term till 2030,” he said.
Also, the former Governor Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also endorsed Oyebanji and his deputy during an APC event at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti.
“I want to join all well-meaning Nigerians, particularly Ekiti leaders and followers, to endorse publicly without reservation, President Bola Tinubu for a second term and to equally endorse our governor, Abayomi Oyebanji, and his deputy for a second term,” Fayose said.
Describing the gathering as unique, Fayose said the event had drawn all former Ekiti governors, as well as leaders of the state and National Assembly members.
He denied defecting from his party to the ruling APC, recalling how he swept all 16 local council areas to become the Ekiti governor in 2014.
