Ogun APC debunks Amosun suspension

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the claim that the party suspended the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, for anti-party activities.

This was contained in a statement made available on Thursday in Abeokuta, the state capital, by the Director of Publicity, APC, Ogun State, Nuberu Olufemi.
Olufemi said, “The party will not hesitate to prosecute anyone found to be involved in the creation, funding, or dissemination of this falsehood to the fullest extent of the law.”

Olufemi stated that the matter has been formally reported to the relevant security agencies, noting that the party has requested a full-scale investigation to unmask the individuals and groups behind this criminal impersonation and cybercrime.
“The attention of the Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a malicious and entirely fabricated news item circulating on various media platforms and social media, purporting the suspension of our esteemed leader and former Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Senator Ibikunle Amosun.”

He urged the public and party members to disregard this piece of fiction in its entirety.
He said, “This publication is false, reckless, and a deliberate attempt by faceless individuals and political adversaries to create disaffection, cause confusion within the ranks of our great party, and bring the APC into disrepute.
“It did not originate from any official or sanctioned organ of the Ogun State APC. The so-called ‘State Working Committee’ meeting and the actions it describes are complete fabrications.
“This serves as a stern warning to the purveyors of this fake news and those who seek to tarnish the solid image of our party and its leaders. Your actions constitute a serious crime with grave consequences.”

Olufemi maintained that the APC in Ogun State remains united, strong, and focused on its goals of delivering good governance to the good people of the state. “We will not be distracted by the antics of desperate elements,” he said.
